Seth Robinson, CompTIA’s Senior Director of Technology Analysis, will highlight the major trends shaping the Cyber Security landscape in this 30-minute webinar.

Abstract:

Most companies have traditionally viewed security as a technology challenge--build the best defense to keep attacks out. As IT operations are changing, that viewpoint needs to change also. This session will examine the changes in technology, the new corporate processes, and the focus on education that must be part of every company’s security posture.

About CompTIA:

CompTIA is the voice of the world’s information technology (IT) industry. As a non-profit trade association, we advance the global interests of IT professionals and IT channel organizations and enable them to be more successful with industry-leading IT certifications and IT business credentials, IT education, resources, and the ability to connect with like-minded, leading IT industry experts. With IT job openings being created faster than trained people can be found to fill them, IT certification is the best way to open the door to a higher salary, more opportunities and career fulfillment. An Indeed.com study in March 2014 found there were almost 2,000,000 unfilled IT jobs globally in a variety of industries. Trained and certified IT professionals are needed worldwide.

CompTIA professional certifications cover the technical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a specific IT career. CompTIA certifications help to train and identify qualified, knowledgeable employees and match them with employers who have jobs to fill. And, employers know CompTIA. When you show up for a job interview with CompTIA credentials under your belt, that employer knows that you not only have the IT skills to do the job, but you also have a commitment to your career to continue learning. The top three CompTIA certifications in demand are CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+.CompTIA A+ covers preventative maintenance, basic networking, installation, troubleshooting, communication and professionalism. CompTIA Network+ covers managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, operating and configuring basic network infrastructure. CompTIA Security+ covers system security, network infrastructure, cryptography, assessments and audits.

CompTIA is with you every step of the way. We offer options to study for the exam and help you narrow down which training centers and study materials provide the best training resources. You can study with CompTIA CertMaster, an online learning tool we’ve designed to make it easy and convenient to study for your certification exam. You won’t find long pages of text to read or lectures to watch. Instead, you’ll start answering questions right away and learn at your own pace. CertMaster constantly analyzes your answers and adjusts your path through the course as you learn. We can help you purchase exam vouchers and find the testing site nearest to you.

There continues to be high demand for motivated and capable employees. It’s the job of CompTIA’s philanthropic arm, the Creating IT Futures Foundation, to help unemployed individuals and populations under-represented in the field obtain the right training for an IT role; not just a job, but a foothold into a career. In order to help supply the IT worker pipeline, our information technology philanthropy program is exploring ways to nudge more youth in the direction of tech careers.
